A Few Words
About Us
JCI Puerto Princesa Oil, established on May 2, 1975, is a community of young male leaders aged 18–40 who turn ideas into action for Palawan.
Our local organization was founded on a simple belief: when young people are given real opportunities to lead, they can transform their communities and their future.
Today, we serve as a leadership home for young Palaweños who are ready to move from ideas to action and create positive change across Puerto Princesa City and the province of Palawan.
As part of Junior Chamber International’s global network under JCI Philippines, we provide real-world leadership experiences through projects in education, environment, livelihoods, civic engagement, and more.
Every initiative is a chance for our members to learn by doing, grow in confidence, and create positive change in Puerto Princesa and beyond.
How JCI Puerto Princesa Oil Began
JCI Puerto Princesa Oil,originally known as the Oil Jaycees,is the first JCI local organization in Palawan, founded on May 2, 1975, under the leadership of educator Tomas Paz Timbancaya. It develops young leaders aged 18–40 through community projects in youth development, business, environment, and civic engagement, and has grown into the “mother chapter” that gave birth to the JCI Palawan Region.
The local organization emerged from a group of young professionals and community leaders who saw the need for a dedicated space where youth could learn, lead, and collaborate beyond traditional boundaries.
From the beginning, our chapter has been rooted in Puerto Princesa but designed for impact across Palawan—uniting students, entrepreneurs, public servants, and community advocates under one banner of ethical leadership and service.
Over the years, we have grown into a dynamic network that partners with government, business, academe, and civil society to respond to local challenges through innovative, youth-led projects.
